A ridge tent dumps wind load down the canvas to ground anchors rather than fighting wind across a dome. The classical 6×4 m footprint sleeps 6 to 8 with a clear 1.8 m standing height under the ridge-pole. We run the standard sizes at scale and we cut bespoke footprints for distributor SKUs as a separate custom lane.

Three honest reasons.
First, repair cycle. A ridge tent comes apart into canvas, ground cloth, frame, and ropes — four pieces a downstream user can replace independently. A dome tent with bonded composite poles is a one-piece replacement once the pole fails. For distributors selling into scout networks, training camps, military-surplus channels, or any reuse-heavy buyer, the repair-cycle math favours ridge.
Second, wind load. The ridge geometry dumps wind to ground rather than holding it across a dome surface. Anchored properly, a 5×5 m ridge takes sustained 60 km/h winds without losing the canvas. The same wind on a 4-person dome flexes the pole arc until the canvas tears at the sleeve.

Can I mix footprints in one container?
Yes. A typical distributor container runs a mix of 4×4 m and 6×4 m with a smaller share of 5×5 m. Packing list split by SKU.
Is the frame painted or galvanised?
Galvanised steel. We do not paint the frame because galvanising serves repair-and-reuse cycles better in coastal climates.
Can the canvas be ordered in colours other than natural?
Yes. Natural, olive, sand, white, and custom colours from a 250-unit minimum.
Does the tent come with anchor pegs?
Standard packing includes galvanised steel anchor pegs and tensioning rope. Specify quantities and length per pack at PO time.
